What to Expect in Week 3 of WSOP 2015

As week three of the World Series of Poker event quickly approaches, the long haul of the WSOP is underway for many players. However, that doesn’t mean that Week 3 isn’t an exciting time. With all the big names and some big controversy, Week 3 at WSOP is just as enthralling as any other. Here are a few things to keep an eye on starting next Monday.

Will Phil Hellmuth Win?

12 players are left in the $10,000 Razz Championship event, and there are some incredibly skilled poker players playing in this year’s tournament. However, many people are keeping their eye on Phil Hellmuth as he hopes to battle his way to another bracelet in order to add to his record-setting poker history. Hellmuth is currently in third place as he heads into the final game day. However, this was the exact place he was in 2012 when he was able to race ahead to win the $1500 Razz event for the #12 bracelet. Nonetheless, it may be trickier for him to win this year, as poker champion, Adam Owen is in winning place with Thomas Keller coming in second and Hellmuth right behind them.

The Cheating Scandal

The WSOP is being very careful in how they handle the cheating allegations that have been placed on Valeriu Coca during the $10,000 Heads Up Championship. They have yet to make very many statements pertaining to what they have done to handle the situation, as well as what they’ve learned about the truth of it. Either way, people aren’t too happy with Coca, and many want to see him permanently banned from playing. It depends on who you ask, however different sources are stating that either he has not or has been given his $54,545 payout for coming in 5th place in the Heads Up Championship. Due to the fact that the event came to a finish on June 5th, it’s likely that there’ll be some sort of statement given from WSOP this following week on an update of the investigation.

A New Millionaire Is in The Air

At some point on Tuesday there potentially will be a new millionaire amongst us. There are 142 players left in the $1500 Million Maker, which is heading into Day 3 starting Monday. The final table is set to start on Tuesday afternoon. Justin Peicher is ahead, however it’s a toss up as to who is going to win, as there are several amazing poker players at the table. Whoever wins will be taking home an impressive $1,277,193.

The Monster Stack

The WSOP loves putting on a show, and as long as they’re still successes they have their place at the WSOP tables. With the Millionaire Maker and Colossus already wrapping up for the year, the $1,500 Monster Stack is going to have its time to shine. It starts this Friday afternoon, and after the turnout from the last two gimmick events there is expected to be an outstanding turnout for this one as well.

The $10,000 No Limit Deuce to Seven Championship

For those poker fans that followed the WSOP schedule from home there are always several events that you’re unable to find anywhere else. This is the case for the $10,000 No Limit Deuce to Seven Championship event. This event always attracts three types of players: specialist that only play on this game, gambling lovers who just want to play and top poker pros. In the previous year, Paul Vault beat 86 other poker players to win his very first bracelet. It is expected that this year’s table size will be around 80 players again.
